Mumbai: Actress Poonam Dhillon is reportedly set to play a role inspired by Sridevi's 'English Vinglish' act in an upcoming television show.
"Seasoned actress Poonam Dhillon is all set to appear on the small screen yet again as the lead protagonist on Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming fiction show," a source said.
The yet-to-be-titled show is loosely based on Bollywood's acclaimed movie 'English Vinglish', which marked Sridevi's return to the silver screen after a gap of 15 years.
Poonam will be essaying the role of an amicable mother-in-law, sources said adding that the show is not just another story of a woman, but the story of self-awakening and self-respect.
Everything relating to the show is kept under wraps. The show is likely to go on air this year.
