New Delhi: Remember Jade Goody? The British reality television star who drove actor Shilpa Shetty to tears on the show Celebrity Big Brother it seems knows how to hit headlines.
Goody has struck up an unlikely friendship with Prince Azim of Brunei, who has showered her with gifts including a diamond ring thought to be worth £3 million, according to the Daily Mail.
The duo is reportedly also planning a TV career together in the US.
The 25-year-old prince, who is the son of the Sultan of Brunei and stands to inherit a share of his £20 billion fortune, is a regular on London's showbiz circuit.
He has been spotted out on the town with Goody and her fiance, Jack Tweed.
“I have become quite friendly with the Prince of Brunei. He wanted to meet me, we met and got on like a house on fire,” Goody was quoted by the newspaper as saying.
“He gave me a ring and it's huge, full of diamonds. He said 'take this'. I was, like, 'I can't'. I haven't got it valued yet but he had one that was very similar and that is worth £3 million,” she added.
Goody's UK career came to an abrupt halt when her racist bullying of Shilpa caused an international storm. But now the actor claims that she is all set to make a name for herself in the US.
"The prince is just an amazing friend. I have met so many people through him, like Johnny Depp and Mariah Carey. So now I am going to America with someone who looks after Will Smith and Halle Berry and they have taken a real interest in me and I have got a lot of work lined up in America."
