HYDERABAD: Handloom and textiles minister P Shankar Rao has demanded that CBI should order a high-level inquiry into irregularities in regularisation of lands in the city.He also decided to shoot off a letter to the probe agency on this issue.Addressing a press conference at Congress Legislature Party Office (CLP) here on Monday, Shankar Rao alleged that several big personalities including relatives of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and former state government advisor KVP Ramachandra Rao had regularised valuable lands by utilising loopholes in the Land Ceiling Act.The minister further alleged in the previous governments, officials were given several relaxations for land regularisation several times by utilising the facility of several top personalities in the state.In this manner, over 50,000 acres of land had been regularised, he added. He said that several people have regularised 12,000 acres of land in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills over the last several years and alleged that out of that, 500 acres were regularised by relatives of former chief minister YSR.He alleged several RDOs of revenue departments have also tampered the records.
