HYDERABAD:With pro-Telangana groups planning a series of agitations, including a bandh on Wednesday in Telangana against conduct of SI recruitment test, the Hyderabad police on Tuesday issued prohibitory orders in the city for a week.Police commissioner AK Khan, in a notification on Tuesday, said the prohibitory orders were issued following reliable information that certain groups are trying to create disturbances affecting public peace and order in the city.The prohibitory orders ban every kind of assembly of public on roads and also bans processions, dharnas, rallies or public meetings.The orders would be in force from Wednesday till August 16, Khan said. As earlier, transport services, particularly RTC and railways, did not announce cancellation of services. They are likely to take a decision depending on the situation.Though commercial activity might suffer to some extent, police anticipate no disruption to transport. Meanwhile, security has been tightened near Osmania University and some of the OUJAC leaders were reportedly taken into preventive custody. Acharya NG Ranga University has postponed counselling for BSc agriculture and horticulture and BVSc courses and they would be held on August 12.
