Protest against BOT system

KOCHI: The National Highway Protection Council is launching a series of protests against the toll collection and BOT system from Monday. As part of the protests, the council will organise an anti-toll campaign and people’s march at the toll plaza in Kumabalam at 10 a.m. on Monday. The council will observe ‘Quit Toll Day on August 9. “As part of the protests, vehicles will defy the toll system at Kumabalam on that day. August 15 will be observed as ‘freedom for movement day’,” said C R Neelakandan, convener of the National Highway Protection Council.
