India's unbeaten run in the Punjab Gold cup continues.

New Delhi: India's unbeaten run in the Punjab Gold cup continues. The hosts held fancied Holland to a 2-2 draw in Chandigarh. Both teams had played out a 4-4 draw in the first round of the double leg tournament and it was another high voltage encounter.

The European Champions took the lead minutes late in the first half and Jeroen Hertzberger adroitly trapped a long hit in found the net to hammer in with a reverse flick.

Tushar Khandker and Rajpal Singh kept the forward line going but a goal remained elusive until the two minutes after the break in the 38th minute when Shivendra slotted in a centre from Pillay. Shivendra - getting on the end from Prabodh Tirkey - managed to put his stick to the ball which rolled in after hitting the goalkeeper’s pads.

Holland went ahead in the 52nd minute with Geert Jan Derik scoring a rebound of his team's second penalty corner, but Prabhjot Singh came to India's rescue four minutes later to send the crowd into a tizzy.

Both teams have 8 points from four matches and should contest the final.

Earlier, in a match devoid of quality, Germany and New Zealand played a goalless draw. Both teams have two points each.
