BHUBANESWAR: BJD leader Hamid Hussain said that the reshuffle in the Manmohan Singh ministry has again exposed the fact that Orissa was discriminated by the Centre in political representation also. Hussain said 0n Tuesday after the Cabinet reshuffle of UPA-II, there are three Cabinet ministers from Uttar Pradesh, two from West Bengal and Kerala - a smaller state than Orissa, has two Cabinet ministers and two ministers of state. Orissa has the poor representation in the ministry with only one junior minister. Discrimination and step-motherly attitude of the UPA leadership has been clearly exposed not only in financial matters but also in terms of political representation, with no one from the State taken in the Cabinet expansion. He said the reshuffle has also failed to address the issues of spiraling price rise, as ministers responsible for management of price of food and economic activities continue in the same post.Controversial ministers - Vilasrao Deshmukh, allegedly involved in Adarsh Housing Society scam and Jaipal Reddy, then minister of Urban Development, responsible for developing infrastructure for Commonwealth Games still continue as ministers of important portfolios.
