Rowdy hacked to death

Rowdy Gupendra alias Guppa, 42, was hacked to death by a gang of 4-5 assailants near his residence in Siddharthanagar in Cottonpet police station limits on Tuesday. His nephew Surya alias Appu is suspected to have killed Guppa.

Police said that Guppa was walking outside his residence in the afternoon when the assailants in a car attacked him. When he tried to escape the miscreants chased him and hacked him inside the house before fleeing the scene. While being rushed to a nearby hospital, Guppa succumbed to injuries.“Guppa and Appu shared rivalry and the latter wanted to be identified as more powerful than Guppa in the locality. He along with his associates are absconding after the murder,” the police added.Cottonpet police have registered a case and are investigating.
