New Delhi: After defending his participation in the Uttar Pradesh government's cultural event in Saifai village, actor Salman Khan took to Twitter to state that Alia Bhatt shouldn't be mocked for her performance either.
For the uninitiated, actors Madhuri Dixit and Mallika Sherawat - who had also performed at the ancestral village of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav are being slammed for being part of a lavish event which the government had organized at a time when Muzaffarnagar riot victims are in pain.
As media reports suggest, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt reacted to Alia's participation by saying that he didn't succeed in shouldering his responsibilities as a father. Star Salman was quick to tweet his opinion. "Bhatt saab no need for apology, alia's upbringing is gr8, was proud to share the stage vit her. Earns her living vit hardwork n dignity," his tweet read.
Salman had recently issued a statement to respond to critics accusing him of performing at Saifai.
