Sankagiri accident kills two

SALEM: Two persons died when a mini van carrying poultry rammed into a roadside tree near Sankagiri on Sunday. Both were working for Tiruchengode based poultry agent Subash.S Anandan of Pallipalayam used to drive the poultry van, while Danasekaran and Venkatesh of Sooramangalam worked as helpers.The accident happened when Anandan and the helpers were returning to Tiruchengode, after distribution, when the mini van went off the road. Anandan was trapped in the mangled vehicle and died on the spot, while Venkatesan was thrown out of the vehicle and died in the impact.Danasekaran was taken to the Sankagiri GH from where he was referred to Erode GH. The bodies were sent to Sankagiri GH for postmortem. Police said the accident might have happened when the driver dozed off while driving the van.
