The bench had in 2006 passed a slew of measures for bringing about reform in the police machinery.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday summoned the chief secretaries of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu by July 31. They have been asked to explain about the non-implementation of police reforms in their states.
