Schools asked not to charge exorbitant fees

HYDERABAD: Managements of unrecognised and less facilitated private schools have been warned against collection of exorbitant fees by the Hyderabad district collector Natarajan Gulzar Sunday.At a meeting with the district educational officers, Gulzar said that school managements should collect fees as stipulated by school committees, get recognition from the government and provide basic facilities and proper infrastructure.To keep a check on the high fees, the district administration urged the district education officer and the deputy education officers to make sure that managements of schools put up their fee structure on their respective websites.Gulzar said that he would not spare the negligent attitude of government teachers and urged the government schools to place and update their unit test results on their respective websites.He pressed for the construction of additional classrooms in government schools and preparation of an action plan that would impart skills in mathematics and science for Class VI students.Schools, principals and teachers who perform well would be awarded, he said.
