Seafarers test order stayed

CHENNAI: The first bench of the Madras High Court has stayed the operation of the orders dated January 30 this year of a single judge, setting aside conduct of common entrance test (CET) for admission to GP Rating Course by the Board of Examination of Seafarers Trust (BEST) in Mumbai. The bench comprising Chief Justice MY Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagnanam granted the injunction while admitting a writ appeal from the Director General of Shipping (DGS) and two others, on February 12 last. The matter would be taken up after four weeks.
