SFI mourns TP death at State meet

In a surprise move, the delegates’ session of the 31st state conference of the SFI offered condolences to the slain Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan.

According to sources, the name of Chandrasekharan was included in the list of those who were offered condolences at the instance of SFI all-India president P K Biju MP, who was on the dais at that time.

The SFI meet is zeroing in on clearing the CPM’s name in the TP murder, especially when it was evident from the beginning of the meet that Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan would raise the issue at the CPM central committee meeting.

At the public meeting held in connection with the meet, CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the UDF was trying to foist false cases on the CPM leaders in the TP murder case in which it was not involved.

The murders of CPM leader Azheekkodan Raghavan, SFI activist Aneesh Raj and the revelations of the driver of Sudhakaran, Prasanth Babu in the Nalpadi Vasu murder case were dwelt at length. Kodiyeri said that the UDF is taking a soft stance in the cases against Sudhakaran MP and P K Basheer MLA.

At the delegates’ session held on Friday, the parents of Aneesh Raj were brought to participate in the conference.

Aneesh Raj’s father Rajan, who is also a branch secretary of the CPM, said that he could feel the presence of his son in the midst of the youngsters assembled there. Rajan and wife Anitha Rajan were seated on the dais at the delegates session.  SFI state secretary P Biju presented the working report of the union.
