Shah meets Bhagwat; said to have discussed Jammu and Kashmir, land bill
The meeting between Shah and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the organisation's headquarters in Mahal area in Nagpur lasted over eight hours.

Nagpur: BJP president Amit Shah on Friday had a meeting with the RSS top brass in Nagpur, seen as significant against the backdrop of the party's alliance with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's statement giving credit to Pakistan and separatists for the peaceful polls in Jammu.

The meeting between Shah and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the organisation's headquarters in Mahal area in Nagpur lasted over eight hours.

The meeting was also significant as the RSS's Pratinidhi Sabha, its highest decision-making body, is to meet in Nagpur in the third week of this month. Though Shah did not speak to reporters, RSS sources said the common minimum program of PDP-BJP alliance, Sayeed's controversial statement, the position on Article 370, and the land bill were discussed at the meeting.

Sayeed's statement had created a controversy, and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to clarify in the Parliament that the Union government did not endorse his view.

This was Shah's second visit to the city after becoming the president of BJP. He also met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who arrived in Nagpur on Friday morning.
