Show-cause notice to MU lecturer

MANGALORE: Mangalore University has issued a show cause notice to a lecturer for his negligence in preparing question papers for an old batch of Mangalore University undergraduate students.The university has issued the notice to lecturer Hayavadana Upadhyaya for neglecting guidelines in preparing question papers.The lecturer, who had the responsibility of preparing different question papers for English (subject), had framed similar questions for both the old and new batches, for the semester examinations held in October- November 2011.As the syllabus was different for the old and new batch, students from the old batch faced problems while writing the examination.The university realised the mistake only after the examination, when a set of students from a few colleges raised objections. Without any other option, the university conducted reexamination for 26 students from the old batch. In the show cause notice, the varsity has sought the lecturer’s reasons for his negligence.
