Students benefit as no cost laptops arrive

CHENNAI: “I am happy to be able to distribute laptops to the students as a Minister and also an alumnus of the college,” said Minister for Animal Husbandry, Tamil Nadu TKM Chinnaiah at the distribution of laptops at Madras Christian College.Principal Dr R W Alexander Jesudasan welcomed the gathering and threw light on the fact that MCC was the largest beneficiary of this scheme with a total of 1,452 laptops being distributed to its students at a total cost of about `2 crore.Chinniah, who is an alumnus of the college, said that the laptops would help the students as they pursued higher studies. The function was also graced by a panel of dignitaries which included the chairman of Tambaram municipality, Karikalan.
