PURI: Students of Sirei ME School under Kanas block were reportedly taken ill after consuming mid-day meal on Monday. Over 50 students have been admitted to Kanas hospital. Sources said the students started vomiting soon after having the meal. A medical team from Puri headquarters hospital has arrived to supervise their treatment. The officers of Education Department and the district administration too have reached Kanas. Meanwhile, residents of the nearby villages stormed the hospital demanding a thorough probe into the incident. The police are keeping a close watch on the developments. 4 Die in Mishap Four persons died and five others were injured in an accident late on Sunday on NH-203, about six km from Puri. Chandanpur Police said nine persons were returning to Puri after attending a feast at Sirulimahavir temple in a four-wheeler when the driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed a roadside tree. While three of them died on the spot, the driver, Pramod Mishra succumbed to his injuries in SCB Medical, Cuttack. The deceased have been identified as Chandan Das (35), Ashok Ram (34), Kanhu Mullick (34).
