Super- powered humans!!!
Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google NewsI have always been fascinated by superheroes..always wanted to have a secret power...always wished that I could fly or become invisible or at the very least know awesome action moves...
But eyes-screwed-up, clasped hands prayers for special powers dont always come true... Good only, like they say here...
'cos somehow I think India's not ready for a superhero...
" What do you mean?" , you may ask..."We have had Shaktimaan", you say...but thats about it...
Can you honestly see a Superman or a Spiderman roaming the streets of Delhi or Mumbai rescuing people in peril? I cant and thats probably why our first high profile indigeneous screen super hero Krrish has decided to debut on the streets of Singapore and not India...
And this is why I think Krrish chose Singapore... (No, its not because the Singapore tourism Board paid big bucks to Rakesh Roshans' FilmKraft Productions...thats just one of the reasons)
So as I was saying the reason...
Recently Aamir Khan decided to speak up for the Narmada Bachao Andolan activists...Predictably all hell broke loose...
I am not saying Aamir Khan is a superhero, as far as i know, he's just a rich celebrity...
But the point is that he spoke out, something which not many people do..
Results of his speaking out--
1.Media going wild ( by media read News Channels more than print)...
2. Inane questions galore...
3. Semi-riots in Gujarat
The questions about his behaviour ranged from almost sane to the ludicrous...
My personal favourite was " What right does Aamir Khan have to speak out???"
Slightly I thought I ndia was a democracy and that everyone had the right to speak out...dint know that was'nt the case...
What does this have to do with Krrish , you might say?
Nothing 'cept for the fact that , I guess Singaporeans would'nt scream bloody murder and demand to know what right Krrish had to rescue them from certain death...
In our country however, well-known citizens are questioned on their rights to support causes..
and so a do-gooder superhero has as much chances of survival as a snowball in hell...
