KALADY: The postmortem examination of Sabu, 36, of Palatty Kanjoor, who was murdered while chatting with his friends on the road at Manackapady Juntion in Kanjoor, near Kalady on Wednesday, was conducted at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital on Thursday afternoon. The suspects have been named as one Henry and an accomplice, by the police.According to local people, Sabu and two of his friends were chatting at Manackapady Junction when Henry and an accomplice came on a motor bike. However, Sabu’s friends managed to escape from the scene.But, Sabu was attacked with choppers, inflicting multiple fatal injuries on his head and neck. The assailants escaped the scene before the arrival of police.  Sabu, who was critically injured by then, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.Police team led by Perumbavoor DySP Harikrishnan and Kalady CI John Varghese launched intensive combing operations at possible hideouts of Henry.According to Police, the accused is a notorious criminal and is involved in 18 major criminal cases under various police stations limits.He has also been arrested under the Goonda Act. Henry, a native of Varapuzha, settled in Manackapady few months ago and reportedly, did not let go of his criminal activities.Henry’s activities had put the local people in a constant state of fear and panic and they had decided to lodge a complaint with higher authorities. Police say that this could have been the reason for the attack, Henry might have thought that Sabu and his friends were behind the complaint, said the DySP. Sabu is also said to be a witness against Henry in a criminal case.Sabu is survived by his wife Mini and two children, Samson and Saniya.
