Swathy Krishna, who underwent a liver transplant surgery recently, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. She thanked all those who had supported her and prayed for her recovery. “Many people have prayed for my recovery - the doctors at Amritha Hospital, nurses, paramedical staff and those who made financial contributions for my surgery. I am grateful to all of them,” said Swathy.
Upon the doctor’s instructions, Swathy would be under complete rest for three months. “I will pursue my studies and write poetry during the period,” she said.
Swathy Krishna underwent a successful eight-hour-long liver transplantation surgery on July 14 at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. A Plus-two student at MKM Higher Secondary School, Piravom, Swathy was admitted to AIMS with acute jaundice that had severely affected the liver functioning.
Her aunt Rainy Joy donated a part of her liver to Swathy.
