Patna: A sweeper of a school in Patna tried to sexually assault a Class 2 student on Wednesday.
Police said the girl went to a toilet meant for female teachers and students. Danapur Police Station In-charge Sandeep Kumar said the sweeper was already inside the bathroom and he tried to sexually assault her. She ran away and told another student who informed a teacher
The victim’s statement has been recorded and a medical examination has been conducted. The sweeper has been arrested.
A large number of agitating parents protested outside the Holi Cross School on Thursday demanding action, forcing the district administration to close the school till next week.
The principal called the girl’s parents for a meeting after they blamed the school authorities for the incident. However, after getting the news of the incident, other parents gathered outside the school and protested against the authorities.
