VIJAYAWADA: The Telugu Desam Party activists, led by Mylavaram MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, broke the window panes of secondary education minister Kolusu Parthasarathi's car at Reddygudem mandal headquarters on Friday.According to information reaching here, the TDP activists staged a sit in before the minister's car when he was came to the mandal headquarter to participate in second phase of Rachabanda programme.The TD workers entered into an argument with the minister saying that paddy crop had withered in Reddygudem and Ibrahimpatnam mandals as adequate water was not released from the Nagarjunasagar canal.Though the minister invited the MLA to discuss the issue, he continued his protest.The minister and the TD leader entered into an argument. Umamaheswara Rao said that the Congress had failed on all fronts in extending support to the drought hit farmers in the mandal and the government failed to address petitions received during Rachabanda phase-I. Reacting to his remarks, the minister challenged the TDP leader for an open debate on Congress and TDP rule. The minister said hundreds of farmers had committed suicide during the TD rule. Even as police was dispersing protesters, some broke window panes of the minister's car.
