BANGALORE: Noted historian Jacques Barzun once said, ‘Teaching is not lost art, but the regard for it is a lost tradition’. Honouring the profession, various insititutions observed ‘Teachers’ Day’ on Monday in Bangalore.Deputy Mayor S Harish visited various schools at his ward, Nagapura, and gave roses and sweets to the teachers. Apart from BBMP and other private schools, Harish also visited Vidhyavardaka Sangha and National Public School, Rajajinagar, where he studied. Students of Baldwin’s Methodist College, observed Teacher’s Day by celebrating former president of India, Sarvapalli Radhakrishna’s birth anniversary. Principal of Baldwin’s Methodist College, Joshua Samuel, cut a cake weighing 60 kg. Six senior professors were felicitated at the Teacher’s Day celebrations organised by Bangalore University (BU) at Palace Grounds.
