HYDERABAD: Telangana MPs are in a dilemma whether or not to attend the winter session of Parliament beginning November 22. The MPs, after Sakala Janula Samme was called off and the T movement slowed down, appeared to have taken a break, pinning hopes on the Congress high command to announce its decision on Telangana.With AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad saying at Chennai on Friday that a lot more exercise had to be done by the party before taking a policy decision on the T issue, the MPs would like to meet in Hyderabad on Monday to discuss whether or not they should attend the winter session. According to Telangana Congress Steering Committee chairman K Keshava Rao, as the party has not yet made its mind clear on the T issue, the MPs have not yet discussed the future course of action."We are expecting the party leadership to make an announcement on T," he said. But the general feeling among the MPs is that the Congress high command may take at least two to three months to reveal its stand.According to sources, the party may continue to delay it as long as possible. It may announce creation of regional councils with functional autonomy for the development of all the backward regions in the state."The party is in fact making this exercise now. But it may not announce it officially but will let people know its mind in bits and pieces through carefully orchestrated leaks," says an MP on condition of anonymity. Though the decision on Telangana may take long, there is no possibility of the MPs quitting the Congress and joining some other party.There are a couple of MPs who want to boycott the winter session while others are of the view that it will be better to attend the session to bring pressure on the UPA Government to deliver T.
