BHUBANESWAR: Tension prevailed at Jama Masjid in Unit IV on Friday after two groups had a face-off over the issue of administration of the mosque.
Since Friday witnesses huge congregation, police rushed to the spot and kept a watch on the proceedings to prevent any deterioration in the situation.Police said the tension built up over administration matters.

The Wakf Board had taken over direct administration of the mosque in 2003 and appointed an administrator. However, the constitution of a new sevenmember panel by the Board seemed to have led to the confrontation.
