Japan: Twelve killed and thousands injured when members of Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo release nerve agent, sarin, on the Tokyo underground.

1995, July 25

France: On a rush-hour underground train at crowded Saint-Michel Metro station in Paris a gas-canister bomb explodes, killing eight and injuring 86.

1996, June 11

Russia: Bomb explodes on the Moscow tube, killing four.

Sri Lanka: Two bombs explode on commuter train in Colombo, Sri Lanka, killing at least 57 and injuring 450.

India: Bomb explodes in a packed train in Assam, killing 300.

Philippines: Bomb explodes in the front coach of a train pulling into a station in Philippine capital, Manila, killing 11.
