- 9/11 New York - September 11, 2001 attacks when two hijacked airplanes crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia killing nearly 3,000 people.
- 3/11 Madrid - March 11, 2004 bombing of commuter trains in Madrid, killing 191 people and injuring more than 1,500.
- 7/7 London - July 7, 2005 bombing on a double-decker bus and three London underground trains killing 56 persons and injuring more than 700 others.
- 7/11 Mumbai - July 11, 2006 serial blast rock suburban train network in Mumbai, killing over 200 and injuring nearly 700 others.
Also three of the major attacks occurring on the 11th day of the month.
