New Delhi: Distinguished Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), C Raja Mohan praised the Narendra Modi government for working closely with the Americans.
Speaking at the Observer Research Foundation and Network18 initiative 'The India-US Dialogue', Raja Mohan said, "Previous government hesitated to be seen working with Americans but the new government is changing that."
On the trade ties between both the countries, Mohan said, "India must play catch up on trade, must continue internal reform to synergise domestic & international standards."
While discussing defence strategies, Raja Mohan also said, "Indian challenge in Paris climate talks are growing. But we need to be less dependent on coal and we can increase renewable component of energy mix."
In the lead up to US President's historic second visit to India; The Observer Research Foundation and Network18 have initiated the India-US policy dialogues.
