BANGALORE: Banaswadi police have arrested three persons for allegedly demanding protection money from realtors and threatening to eliminate them if they did not pay heed to their demands.The accused have been identified as Gangadhar (29) of Shankarapuram, Madan Kumar alias Paiyya (22) of Gavipuram and Santosh (20) of Hoskerehalli.According to the police, a realtor of HRBR Layout III Block had filed a complaint alleging that he was receiving calls on his mobile phone by some unknown miscreants demanding Rs 3 crore.He had also stated that they were threatening to kidnap and murder him if he did not pay heed to their demand.Based on the compliant, the police swung into action and arrested the three“During investigation it was also learnt that a month ago, the three people had waylaid the car of a realtor in Hanumanthanagar and had broke its windshield by dropping a boulder.They had demanded Rs 3 crore from the victim and he had filed case in Hanumanthanagar police station,” the police added.Among the accused, Paiyya was earlier involved in a murder and a dacoity case in Shankarapuram and Channapatna police station limits.The police have seized two bikes from them. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody. Further investigations are on.
