A 60-year-old woman was mauled to death by a tiger in Boodanur village in HD taluk here on Saturday. The beast which was on prowl since the last few days pounced on Mahadevamma, who was grazing goats on the outskirts of the village.
She died on spot.
Sources said that the tiger which was hiding in a bush at first attacked a goat. When a shocked Mahadevamma cried out for help, the animal left the goat and pounced on her.
The tiger was first spotted in Dasanapura village 10 kilometres away from Boodanuru a week ago. H D Kote police have registered a case.
