Tomato prices double over the last 10 days across cities - selling at Rs 45-55 per kg.

New Delhi: Even as citizens are yet to come to terms with skyrocketing prices of onion, tomato prices have shot up across cities by almost Rs 10-15, currently selling at RS 45-55 a kg.

Prices of tomato soared to Rs 50 a kg in Delhi on Thursday double of what it was ten days ago.

According to trade sources, prices have soared in the national capital due to supply crunch and export of the item to Pakistan.

Prices of tomato across cities per kg:

Surat: Rs 45

Jalandhar: Rs 40(retail), Rs 30(wholesale)

Vadodara: Rs 48(retail), Rs 38(wholesale)
