Tribal ryot killed in Khammam

KHAMMAM: A tribal farmer was murdered by three unidentified assailants at Cherupalli village in Dummagudem mandal on Saturday night.Dummagudem sub-inspector Sukoor said the deceased farmer was identified as V Papa Rao (30). While he was sleeping, the assailants forcibly entered his house and slit his throat with a knife. When his wife Akkamma woke up and raised an alarm, his neighbours rushed to the house. They made a vain bid to catch hold of the assailants. Though some villagers suspected the hand of Maoists in the murder, the police denied their role in it.
