THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, who was here to attend the high-level meeting on railway development of the state, managed to find time to make a brisk visit to the Central Railway Station and also have a darsan at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The Minister, accompanied by close friend and local MP Shashi Tharoor and Transport Minister V S Sivakumar reached the station around 5 p.m. Taking a look at the platforms and taking note of the infrastructure requirements of the station, he later entered the vegetarian refreshment stall. Seeing a woman passenger having refreshments, he asked her about the quality of food. As she okayed the stuff, he sat beside her and ordered a tea and ‘uzhunnu vada.’ Impressed by the tea and snacks, he gave Rs 100 at the cash counter and asked the waiter to keep the balance as tip. He later entered the air-conditioned waiting room for passengers. Seeing the room neat and tidy he congratulated the lady in charge of the upkeep of the room. Speaking to mediapersons, he offered all help to the infrastructure development of the station. He later went to the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple accompanied by Shashi Tharoor, Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar and some officials also joined them. After offering prayers at the temple, the Minister was all praise for the glory and grandeur of the temple.
