HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti Vidyarhti Vibhag (TRSV) state president Balka Suman was on Monday arrested by the city police in connection with cases relating to Million March and others.
Suman, a Ph D student of Osmania University, is a member of the OU JAC. He has been actively participating in the stir for separate Telangana both inside and outside the university.A native of Metpally village in Karimnagar district, Suman is staying in room no. 80 in Narmada research scholars' hostel on the campus. He was held in a joint operation by the sleuths of Task Force and Central Crime Station (CCS). The CCS is probing cases relating to violence that erupted during Million March.

Cases under various sections including 147, 148, 427, 435, 332, 333, 188 and 120b of IPC and Section 3 and 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act, 1984 and 7 (1) of Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1952 were registered against Suman. During Million March, statues on Tank Bund were vandalised, police personnel and media vehciles were attacked. T protestors also assembled unlawfully at the RTA office in Somajiguda and caused inconvenience to the public, DCP (Detective), J Sathyanarayana said.
