Two held for supplying food to terror accused

The police have arrested two persons who forged the letter pad and seal of a madrassa in Thrissur and supplied food to the terror accused in jail during the Ramzan month. Noushad and Fakai of Elamakkara here are the arrested. Fakai is the father of Firoz who was detained in a terror case.

“The NIA court had given permission to the detainees to have food from outside supplied by registered welfare organisations during the Ramzan season. Taking advantage of this, the arrested persons have forged the seal and notepad of Darul Resamma Madrassa in Thrissur and provided food to jail inmates till August 8,” a police official said.

The police came to know about it when the jail authorities informed them that an organisation is providing food for the terror accused inmates. When inquired about the incident, the madrassa officials said that they were unaware of it. Based on the complaint of madrassa authorities, the police had registered a case for forgery.
