Counter-infiltration operation is in progress in Hafruda forests of Handwara area in the district.

Srinagar: Two Army jawans were injured in a gun battle with a group of infiltrating militants on Wednesday in Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. Two jawans were injured in an exchange of fire with militants in Hafruda forests of Handwara, an army official said.

He said the operation which was launched yesterday to foil an infiltration bid was still in progress. Two separate infiltration bids along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir were reported yesterday during which four heavily-armed militants were killed.

Counter-infiltration operation is in progress in Hafruda forests of Handwara area in the district.
