In an exchange of fire between Maoists and their rival group, two Maoists were killed and several others injured at a village in Gaya district on Wednesday, a police officer said.

In an exchange of fire between Maoists and their rival group, two Maoists were killed and several others injured at a village in Gaya district on Wednesday, a police officer said.

The incident took place at Dhangai village when the ultras belonging to the CPI(Maoist) and Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) fired on each other, Sherghati's Sub-Division Police Officer (SDPO) Rajesh Kumar said.

Security forces were rushed to the village to launch a combing and search operation against the Maoists, the SDPO said.
