Two women die in Maoist attack

BHADRACHALAM: A mother and her daughter were  killed in a Maoist attack on Thadimetla STF  police camp near Chemmalavada village in Sukhuma district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday.According to information reaching here, Turakam Koteswaramma (40) and her daughter Turakam Kumari (24), were working at the STF police camp when the Maoists attacked the camp and opened fire on the police. The police also opened fire in  retaliation which continued for about 2 hours. The two women who were severely injured in the firing later succumbed to the injuries. They died while being shifted to Jagdalpur hospital.The deceased belong to Tekulaboru village of Khammam district and migrated to Chhattisgarh in search of work. The bodies would be sent to their native place, Bhadrachalam ASP Gajarao Bhupal said.
