CHENNAI: Fortis Malar Hospitals in collaboration with NGO Aishwarya Trust, recently celebrated completion of 400 succesful cardiac surgeries that have been performed on children from the underprivileged sections of the society. To mark the occasion, the city hospital organised a fashion show — ‘The Triumph of Hearts’. Children who underwent the surgeries walked the ramp.Fortis Malar Hospital conducted the surgeries at minimal operation cost and a significant part of the costs incurred were funded by the city-based NGO — Aishwarya Trust. Krish Ramesh, Zonal Director, Fortis, said, “We, at Fortis Malar Hospital, are proud to be associated with such compassionate work. We will ensure that many more are benefitted from our effort.”Commenting on the occasion, K Nagarajan, Founder, Aishwarya Trust said, “Life is precious, and we, at the trust, have this as our motto. We are glad to be associated with Fortis Malar. The team of doctors has performed admirably and it is great to see these underprivileged children get a second lease of life.”Out of the 400 children, 25 children walked the ramp with immense confidence. The theme of the show was colour, happiness and hope.
