MYSORE: Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore (UoM) Prof V G Talwar said on Saturday that no action can be initiated against the tainted professor of department of zoology, Prof Shivabasavaiah, until receipt of the departmental committee report.He said that the UoM cannot act now based on the report of the Women Harassment Compliant Committee as the committee, after conducting inquiry following a complaint, can only make suggestions and not recommend punishment."In the past, a professor was dismissed from service based on the report of a departmental inquiry committee report,” he pointed out.He vehemently refuted the allegation that the University Syndicate is biased and is dragging its feet on the issue.“UoM is trying to get the stay on the case vacated to bring the case to its end.”
