UP: 3 people die in rain-related incidents, toll rises to 139

Lucknow: Three more people died in the rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh taking the toll to 139 this season.

Moderate to heavy rainfall occurred at various places where the rivers continued to flow above the danger mark. Officials said Ganga was flowing close to the danger level in certain parts. Sharda was flowing above the red mark at Paliakalan in Lakhimpur district, Central Water Commission officials said.

Ghaghra was flowing above the danger level at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia, while Rapti was above the red mark at Birdghat in Gorakhpur.

Quano was above danger level at Mukhlispur in Sant Kabir Nagar.
