Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan has directed the Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad officials to speed up development work and complete the projects in scheduled period at the review meeting held at UP Sadan in Delhi on Saturday.
The Chief Secretary (CS) directed the power department officials to provide 24X7 power supply to Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. Local faults if any should be repaired immediately Ranjan directed them, adding to make ongoing two month anti power theft drive a success. He told them to ensure that after the drive not a single power theft case remained in their area. Noida and Greater Noida authorities Chairman and Chief executive Officer Rama Raman briefed the Chief Secretary about the progress of development projects in the twin cities.
Ghaziabad Development Authority Vice Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav briefed about the measures being taken for beautification of parks, checking pollution, traffic management plan, residential projects and civic amenities and gave details of metro rail extension plan. CS Ranjan directed the authority officers to speed up the expressway, bridges, road projects and other ongoing development projects in their area. He also directed them to check the quality of development work as per the norms. Senior officers should regularly conduct inspection and take samples and get these tested from the labs, he said.
If some deficiency is found the contractor should be penalised Ranjan said, adding that authority officer who earlier conducted inspection should also be penalised. The CS further directed the officers to make arrangement for smooth flow of traffic in the three cities. Traffic management plan should be prepared and implemented effectively. Public should be made aware about traffic rules and violators should be penalised, Ranjan said.
Regarding law and order CS directed the senior police officers to check the rising crime and put the criminals behind bar. During the review meeting he stressed on community policing and regular contacts with RWAs and industrial and commercial associations to get the feed back and suggestions. The Chief Secretary said once the people become the eyes and ears of police, criminals will not dare to strike in the city and crime could be checked effectively. He informed that police modernisation plan is underway and steps initiated for setting of hi-tech control room and setting up of new police stations at Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida. Police force was also being increased.
The CS said state government was committed for integrated development of cities in the state. Principal Secretary Industrial Development Sanjiv Saran, UPSIDC MD Manoj Singh, Ghaziabad DM Vimal Kumar Sharma, Noida DM AV Rajamouli, SSP Noida Preetinder Singh and other district officials from the three cities were also present at the review meeting.
