New Delhi: For the first time in three decades, US will establish its diplomatic presence in Iran next month.

The Guardian reported that the mission will neither be an embassy nor a consulate but more like a facility centre where visa facilities will be available.

As of now, Iranians have to go to Dubai to get US visas.

The move comes just within days of Iran test firing six missiles.

The US will also send its envoy to Geneva for talks with Iran on the nuclear issue.

While Washington still insists Iran must suspend its uranium enrichment, the US state department says it wants to reach out to the Iranian people.

US severed ties with Iran since the hostage crisis in 1979.
