BANGALORE: A one-month-old baby tiger, neglected by her mother for the last one month, succumbed toinjuries on early hours of Monday.Dr R Raju, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Bannerghatta Biological Park, told Express that the the baby tiger had injured its neck after its mother ‘accidentally’ trampled on it. Since then the mother had refused the baby to suckle her. The BBP authorities were feeding the injured baby tiger. Despite medical treatment, the baby tiger died in early hours of Monday, he added.He said usually, the female tigers, after delivery, do not allow the babies to suckle them, and sometimes eat them too. In this particular case, as the baby tiger was ‘disabled’, the female tiger did no allow her sibling to come near. The injured baby tiger was under medication for two weeks, he further explained.
