Noida: Noida SSP Preetinder Singh on Sunday launched the community policing here under which station house officers and DSPs held meetings with residents in their respective areas and heard grievances of the people. In urban areas, meetings were held with RWA representatives at sector community centres while police stations saw people come out in large numbers in rural areas.

Residents raised problems related to parking, encroachments and unauthorised movement of scrap dealers. Police officials assured them of taking measures to address their grievances.

"On our request, Noida Police has started community policing in Noida and have started holding meetings with Resident Welfare Associations," said NP Singh, President of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association.

The SSP has decided to hold a workshop for policemen to sensitise them on behaving properly with public, Singh said.
