Muzaffarnagar: The Uttar Pradesh government handed over the probe into gangster Vicky Tyagi murder case to premier investigation agency CBI, police said on Monday.
The order by the government has been received here on Sunday in which the probe into Vicky Tyagi murder case was handed over to CBI from local police incineration, the SP Crime Rakesh Jolly said here on Monday.
In March 2015, the investigation into the case had been shifted to Muzaffarnagar SP Sarvan Kumar.
History-sheeter Vicky Tyagi was shot dead in a court room in Muzzafarnagar, during a hearing on February 16.
The assailant, Sagar Malik was arrested on the spot while another accused Brijbir nabbed later. Three police officials
namely Deputy SP (STF) Anuj Choudhry, SHO Sachin Malik and constable Vikas have also been named in the case.
The victim's mother Prabha Tyagi has been demanding immediate arrest of the accused police officials. She also lodged a complaint with the police against eleven people including Malik and Vikas.
The deceased was one of the accused in the 2011 Barkali case, in which eight people of a family were killed.
