The Red Bull champion needs to finish in top five at the Buddh International Circuit to secure his title.

Greater Noida: Sebastian Vettel will bid to join the elite group of Formula One stalwarts when he switches his Red Bull on for 60 laps of the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday, where he will not just eye a hat-trick of wins at the Indian Grand Prix but also secure his fourth straight title.

The three-time champion, who has won the last five races this season and nine overall, has been dominating from the start of the season. Sitting on top of the Drivers' Championship with a 90-point lead over second-placed Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, Vettel needs to finish in top-five at the BIC to become a four-time world champion. However, Red Bull will be forced to wait if Alonso goes on to win and Vettel finishes sixth or lower.

Also, to win the Constructors' Championship on Sunday, Red Bull will want one of its two drivers - Mark Webber being the other - to finish on top of the podium. Red Bull are currently at 445 points, 148 ahead of Ferrari.

If Vettel manages to clinch the title, which seems a mere formality as of now, he will become the fourth man in history to reach the milestone of four titles after Juan Manuel Fangio, Alain Prost and Michael Schumacher. A title-win in India will also see Vettel becoming the youngest driver in Formula One history to win four championships.

Starting with a third-place finish in Melbourne to five consecutive victories in the last five races - Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Korea and Japan, the German has been flawless behind the wheel. In his last two visits to Indian GP, Vettel has won from pole.

Vettel has 35 career wins to his name, which places him fourth in the all-time standings.
