She came, she saw she conquered. Bollywood never anticipated the entry of this gorgeous lady who has been making a buzz with every other film, delivering one hit after another. Katrina Kaif started her career in the industry with filmmaker Kaizad Gustad in Boom in 2003. Gustad had apparently discovered this pretty face in London. Unfortunately, Katrina did not have fluent Hindi which became a hindrance for many directors but things soon changed. So far, Kat has worked in about 18 films and there are a few more in her kitty. Mind you, among all the films, most were a given success… which brings us to her upcoming political flick, Raajneeti that is set to release on June 5.

Speculation1. Katrina did Raajneeti to take a break from Akshay
If you didn’t know already, Katrina is considered lucky for Akshay Kumar. Out of the 18 films Katrina has acted in, so far Katrina has done about 6 films with Akshay. They undoubtedly have a sexy chemistry and people just can’t get enough of them together. So, was Raajneeti a decision to take a break from Akshay? Well we’d have to rule that out because she has already signed up to do another film with Akki. Katrina in fact has already begun shooting for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan with Akshay.
Speculation2. Katrina did Raajneeti to try a new genre
No one likes to wear the same kind of clothes everyday, nor eat the same kind of food. It’s a similar case with the work one does. From the time Katrina has entered the industry she has been doing rom-coms. From Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya to Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani; after Sarkar a political thriller where the length of her role was as long as your one breather, Raajneeti happens to be her second political film. Hindi films since a decade has always been about singing and dancing. But the image is changing drastically now, the actors today want to do character oriented roles. There’s definitely no harm in it but whether they are able to do full justice to it is still a question of the testing hour. Katrina Kaif who is known for her cheerful, chirpy and happy performance may have taken up Raajneeti to exhibit her serious side and her versatility. Should we really believe this speculation? Speculation4. Katrina did Raajneeti since it was easier on her accented Hindi
Come on face it, this reason by far seems the most convincing. She gets to do a serious film where she doesn’t really have to work too hard on her Hindi because the character is supposed to speak in a foreign accented Hindi. Ever since Katrina began doing Hindi films, the directors always complained about her accented Hindi, until Namastey London happened where Katrina got the role because of her accent. Doesn’t Raajneeti fall on the similar lines? Think about it.
