New Delhi: Designer Komal Sood debuts this year at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and her collection takes inspiration from flowers. The collection had an element of romance and serenity depicted by never-before used loud colours.
Beige camels, burnt oranges and reds were definitely pleasing to the eyes. Visual geometry vitally dramatised a greater out-of-the-box play with the embellishments, which were linear, rhombic and at times floral and circular. The motifs were placed strategically to make every body fall for it at the first sight.
Flowy silhouettes had a new dimension where they erupted through embroidered patterns. The flow was in a very free manner, where chiffons hung out in between the embroideries.
Pleating was another value added feature to the shapes - halters with sensually plunging backs and necklines that were astonishingly attractive.
An artistic approach towards silhouettes with criss-cross placement of fake leather onto the dresses highlighted and flattered feminine curves. Moreover, there was always a great usage of the embroideries giving a liquid-like feel to the entire collection.
The palette was rich in terms of depth with burnt oranges, red florals, ruching and pleating making it like a delicious platte.
Whats haute: Rich palette and eye catching embelishments
What’s not: The collection would suit the A/W theme only for Goa!
